Nigerian youngster Alex Iwobi targets first-team breakthrough after signing long-term deal at Arsenal

Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi has signed a new long-term contract at the Emirates and has his sights set on breaking into Arsene Wenger's first team squad.
The 19-year-old forward, who is currently on international duty after being called up to the Nigeria Super Eagles squad, is the nephew of former Premier League and Nigeria midfield meastro Jay-Jay Okocha.
Iwobi, who had previously represented England at youth level, has been at Arsenal since he was a primary school pupil and has committed his future to the north London club.

Iwobi is highly regarded at Arsenal and was part of Wenger's squad to the pre-season tour of Singapore in July and later scored his first goal for the senior side against Lyon in the Emirates Cup.

ARSENAL EYE MALAGA SWAP DEAL

Malaga right-back Jesus Gamez has been linked with a summer move to Arsenal with striker Nicklas Bendtner possibly going the other way.
Spanish daily Marca is reporting that Gunners' boss Arsene Wenger has been keeping tabs on the Andalucian outfit's skipper as he eyes a long-term replacement for French stopper Bacary Sagna at the Emirates Stadium.

And, having signed Santi Cazorla from Malaga 12 months ago, Wenger is hoping to use Danish hitman, Bendtner and 1.7 million euros to sweeten them into letting Gamez make the move to north London.

It is thought the La Liga side value Gamez higher than Arsenal but they could agree a deal if the Gunners agree to pay half of Bendtner's wages while he is in Spain before his contract expires at the end of next June.

ABDISALAM IBRAHIM IN WENGERS' SIGHT

Reports have today have claimed Arsenal are now in the race to sign highly-rated Manchester City starlet and Norwegian junior international Abdisalam Ibrahim in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal want to add to their squad in the summer, and Arsene Wenger is said to be keen on this young talent.
Gunners’ chief scout could fly out to watch Ibrahim in action for Norwegian club Stromsgodset.
Liverpool and Spurs have been keeping track of Ibrahim, who is touted as a future star by City, the lad has been likened to the legendary Patrick Vieira.
Considering that Arsene Wenger has a knack for finding young talents and turning them into stars, he would be better off make a move to the red side of North London rather than elsewhere.

Wenger killing arsenal

Arsenal played a thrilling 2 all draw with Swansea today, a match we deserved to take something away from as both team were evenly matched. But have we been reduced to struggling against teams like Swansea (I'm not taking anything away from them as they are a very good team with excellent players). Wenger has lost touch with modern football, I mean why play Ramsey on the wing and fail to substitute an inconsistent Santi Cazorla? While Rosicky sits on the bench, we had no clear cut chance in the first 45 minutes apart from a weak Cazorla shot which Michel Vorm had no problem dealing with. While Nigerian fans were screaming for Ramsey's head, Santi was no where to be found on the pitch. Olivier Giroud waited soo long for service which finally came when Theo Walcott laid a well timed pass to the Frenchman who took a good shot that deserved to rest in the back of the net but for Michel Vorm's excellent save. Bringing in Tomas Rosicky for the ineffective Cazorla or Ramsey who was on a yellow would have made sense but Arsene lingered. Wenger should stop being stubborn and play the game like he has thought us Arsenal faithfuls to become used to. Stop playing Ramsey on the flanks and Gervinho? He's not a striker please, it's time to play Rosicky, if Cazorla is not working for us then let Rosicky play, his form took us to third place last season, remember ? Abeg Wenger give your self brain ooo " like disgruntled Nigerian Arsenal fans would say".

AFTER weeks of haggling, Arsenal and Real Madrid have finally agreed terms for Nuri Sahin to replace Alex Song following his move to Barcelona.
According to the Daily Mail, the two clubs had been at loggerheads over the loan deal for the 23-year-old Turkish midfielder. Of particular angst to Real was the price Arsenal should pay if they wanted to buy Sahin at the end of the season. They were asking for “a fixed price” of £14 million, which the Mail says was vexing the Gunners. Now a compromise has been reached and Sahin will be arriving at the Emirates this week to begin his season-long loan spell.

Nuri Sahin is coming to town, thank God. Been quiet for a while now, that was because my excitement about Arsenals ability to challenge for the Premiership and to a certain extent the champions league was peaking, it was unbelievable, Wenger signing Lucas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla plus the players we had i.e RVP, Song, Theo, Ox, TV5, Major General Kosielny , a rejuvenated Rosicky and the return of Jack Wilshere made me salivate, we were the team to beat, not with the level of confidence we had after a bad start last season. All of a sudden my excitement got blown off by the sale of RVP to Manchester United, (Shaking my head). As if that was not enough Alex Song left for Barcelona, that was like hacking 50% of Arsenal off.

Felt so ashamed to continue my thoughts on Arsenal on a constant basis, my darling Arsenal FC has become a selling club. Each season two or three of our stand out performers leave for better pay or trophies just when the club is about to mount a serious challenge.
Looking at the bright side we have brought in Poldi, Giroud, Santi and now Sahin is the forth major signing Arsenal is making in a single summer, "better days man. better days".
Arsene even got Jose and Madrid to insert a buy out clause in the deal bringing Sahin to Arsenal shows that Arsene is a transfer market genius, not forgetting that we might see French internationals Yann M'vila and Phllip Mexes come in too.

MY THOUGHTS ?

Arsenal will lift a Trophy this season, no matter which one.
